Welcome to Gamji College of Health Technology,Sokoto
About Us
The school is a limited liability company owned by Alh Ibrahim Adamu Marafa PHCT (Proprietor) former Heads of Community Health Department College of Health Technology Jega, and also former Head of Community Health Department of this noble institution for a period of six (6) years. He taught for decades in Government schools and rose to the position of Heads of Institution in his respective schools. 2. The school is a child of necessity. It was necessitated by the need for our children to secure admission in to Health Training Institution. The only two schools owned by the state were built when the population of the then Sokoto State was less than three million. Today, the population has almost tripled. Candidates aspiring to get admission were in thousands and only few hundreds were admitted into these institution not because they were not qualified but because of limited vacancies. This and other factors lead to the acute shortage of Health manpower in the state especially female, these had further compounded the problem of maternal mortality at the community level where 70% of our people live. To crown it all, the proprietor of Gamji see the establishment of this institution in 2016 as a reciprocal gesture, that is attempting to pay back in appreciation for what the state Government had invested in us and to also provide service to humanity in our own little way. The school pay high premium on moral upbringing in addition to academic excellence. In this context, the school intends to train students who are morally upright and academically sound, that can compete with their counterparts in any part of the country.
